A large vintage copper pitcher, circa 1950. Brilliant copper fashioned into a pitcher that harkens back to classic Greco-Roman shapes. The elongated neck has a wide, curving mouth with a turned over rim. It connects to the body with a little bulged ring and is decorated by a thin copper twist. The bulb shaped body has a hammered surface and large repousse gadrooning. A flared base has scoop impressions and the same hammered texture. One long, tubular handle with deep and regular indentations throughout attaches at the top and high on the body. Would make an attractive planter or umbrella stand.
Condition: Good vintage condition. Age appropriate minor tarnishing and verdigris.
