A French Apothecary marble mortar with a wooden pestle purchased in the Provence Region. The marble has a carved label with the inscription M. Sollce on one side and C.D on the other. Beige in color with thin, sparse veins running throughout the piece. One simple handle on either side and a plain little pedestal base. The well worn wooden pestle has an attractive shape and decorative carved lines ringing the handle.
