circa: Early 1900s
A comely antique tailor's dress form mannequin in satin wood and woven fabric from J. Elias Ballesté in Barcelona, circa 1900. Satin wood construction with khaki colored fine weave fabric covering. The bright satin wood base and finial at top are turned and carved in baluster form with a wide pedestal base. The form is covered in a fine woven and tightly sewn khaki colored fabric and is stamped by the maker, Ballesté in Barcelona. The measurements are handwritten just below the neck in centimeters: cintura 66, pecho 90, cadera 92; waist 26", chest 35", hips 36" respectively and approximately. Beautiful and perfect for display or tailoring.
Condition: Good antique condition. Nicks along the bottom and light wear on the fabric, both considerably light for its age and use. Missing the peg to lock the post into the stand, but both are stable. Turned collar just below the body may be a replacement. Age wear on wood.
