A handsome mid-century three panel leather and brass screen in dark green attributed to Pierre Gautier, French circa 1950. Dark green, almost black, leather covers wooden frames. Each piece is embellished with antique brass nailhead trim, tracing the shape of the arched tops and creating a paneled effect with larger areas at top and bottom separated by a smaller section in the middle. Brass strips tacked around all edges provide interest and protection for the leather. Lovely petite hinges allow for smooth movement. The fully extended length is 48", but in order to stand on its own the piece must be partially folded, as is typical for standing screens.
Condition: Good vintage condition. Few marks on the leather, appropriate aging on the brass including light verdigris in a couple spots.
