origin: Northern France
A colorful majolica glazed barbotine pitcher from the Art Deco period, French circa 1930. Mold-pressed into hexagonal form, the pitcher has a wide base that narrows towards the mouth, a single handle and slight pour spout, and the sides are decorated with geometric pressed patterns and raised foliate motif. The pot is off-white with thin majolica glazes in light brown at the top and bottom rims and handle, and two greens for the leaves along with a deep rose-pink over the berries. The pot's interior is glazed in the same rose-pink.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. Some runs in glaze color, typical for majolica, and light wear along the bottom. Hairline crack at outside bottom.
