French Glazed Ceramic Planter by Vieillard for Bordeaux <p>A large glazed ceramic planter attributed to Jules Vieillard, Bordeaux, circa late 1800s. Lobed form with raised relief decoration in arabesque design. Hand-painted glazework primarily in deep, cobalt blue with white and baby blue accents traced in gilded linework. Floral and arabesque motifs throughout. Wide bands of gilding along the top and bottom rims. Wide enough to fit smaller pots inside to protect the ceramic, with a 12.5" inner diameter.</p>

Condition: Good antique condition with no visible cracks. Two sizeable glaze chips near the bottom with hand-painted repair. Minor fading on gilt trim.
