A vintage terracotta pitcher with green glaze from the Biot factory in Southern France, circa 1950. Fired red terracotta clay with a round belly, ribbed neck and a little pour spout, single handle near the mouth. A thick green glaze covers the pitcher, pooling in some areas and creating interesting drip patterns in others. One round mark on the widest part of the body, and a clear BIOT mark at the bottom. Would make a great utensil holder or decorative piece.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. A couple of shallow glaze chips at the rim and a tiny glaze chip at the bottom mark. One hairline at the top. Imperfections in the glaze original to the firing.
