A well executed watercolor sketch of a fort on paper in an oak frame. The fortification is built right out against a placid looking body of water with two large hills looming in the distant background. Two sets of ramparts are shown, along with a turret, tower, and some buildings, one with perhaps a tile roof. The scene is verdant, with vines overtaking some of the structures and trees, including cypress. Set against the warm neutrals of the fort and the light water and hills, the green seems to leap from the paper. A simple molded warm oak frame finishes the piece.
Condition: Very good. Some tiny spots on watercolor. Minor wear on frame.
