An outstanding Louis XV Armoire called a 'Stephanoise" from the city of Saint Etienne in the French Loire Region. The two-door armoire is made of blond walnut except for the four oak framing vertical posts and pine wood shelves and back The paneled doors have S-shaped mouldings and the interior has three non-adjustable shelves and three drawers. The apron is shaped and the feet are curved. The frieze has a simple carving of a sunflower in its center and the cornice is a double "chapeau de gendarme". The inside depth is 20".
Condition: Excellent. No restoration. Original hardware.
