A cherrywood revolving bookshelf in the English style, circa 1940. This delightful little rotating library cart sits atop a set of metal casters for easy movement. The square frame will hold books on all sides and has adjustable dividers at the center bottom that can be raised or lowered to allow for variously sized tomes. There is top to bottom clearance of 14". Four slats on the right half of each side secure the volumes behind them. A single 2.5" open shelf at the top can hold papers or extra books. Molded edges on the top two levels add a decorative touch. A metal plaque with art nouveau flourishes is attached to a lower corner on the cart, it states the name of a piano merchant and repair shop in Bordeaux, France.
Condition: Some surface scratches and a few visible stains. One chip at the corner.
