A stunning 18th Century Armoire that combines the Louis XIV and the Louis XV styles. Purchased in the Rhone Valley, the armoire is made of solid dark walnut with a gorgeous patina. The top parts of the paneled doors were later changes to glass to turn the armoire into a vitrine. The apron at the base is scalloped and the legs are curved. Interior has three full shelves (15"deep) and two removable half shelves(8"deep).
Condition: Age appropriate wear with few marks, spots and dings. Some age wear at feet. Left side bows out a little due to age and lock is not easy to catch. Glass panels were most likely added later.
