A classic high Art Deco bakelite and iron gueridon bistro table by Fischel, French circa 1930. Round two-toned brick-red mottled bakelite top with ribbed edges sits over an iron base with tapered, faceted center post and three angular, faceted feet. Art Deco through and through, with clean lines and sharp angles. Marked in the original forging with FISCHEL high on the center post. Fischel was a maker specializing in hotel and bar furniture.
Condition: Good vintage condition. The bakelite top sits a touch off-kilter and has a crack at its edge, extends one inch in, few scratches on the surface. An indentation in the forge left a shallow imperfection in the base, near the brand mark.
