circa: Early 1900s
A marvelous, large antique Louis XV style painted enfilade buffet, French circa 1900. Thick walnut construction with oak planks used at the paneled back and for shelving. Heavily distressed painting throughout in creamy gray tones. The piece is highly decorated with extensive molding, acanthus details, and loads of scroll work, all perched on elegant snail feet. Serpentine in profile, deeper at the center and undulating back at the sides. Two thick, paneled center doors open out to a large cabinet, 20.5" deep at center, with a single adjustable shelf and two locking drawers at top. On either side are matching doors that open up to smaller cabinets, 12 to 16" deep, with two adjustable shelves.
Condition: Very good antique condition. Some narrow age cracks on door panels and top, heavy distressing on paint, newer locks on the center doors.
