A large, debonair mahogany bookcase from the Restoration Period, circa 1820. The Cuban mahogany is a glossy, rich and warm-toned brown. Two front doors with original glass and paneled lower portion have molded trim throughout. Handsome round wooden key escutcheons and working lock. Heavy crown molding at the top, complete with rounded corners. Molded corners and trim over the plinth echo the top. The tall, clean plinth rests on squat little bun feet, almost disks. The interior has four adjustable shelves, each with stained and rounded edges. The door opening is 68" high by 41" wide, shelves are 9.75" deep.
Condition: Very good antique condition. A few minor age appropriate dings and marks. One visible scratch to the glass door. Right escutcheon has been reglued. Some marks at the bottom interior from the door's swing. Small restoration at top of left door.
