A pair of French Art Deco upholstered armchairs from the 40s. Totally redone in contrasting tones that accentuate the sleek design of the chairs. Heavyweight, but soft, taupe woven fabric wraps the chairs, which are then trimmed out with a light-cream thick piping that highlights their shape. The scalloped seat backs flare out at the sides, the overstuffed arms curl out to echo the back. The bouncy seats slope back, allowing you to sink into the chairs. Painted wood details match the piping, with scalloped bracket feet at the front, straight posts at the back, and sweeping decorative pieces attached at the front to futher embellish the curvy Deco shape. The armchairs are large, comfortable and superb! From floor to seat: 15.75".
Condition: Good overall condition. Fabric has few minor wear and tear, some age appropriate flaws. Seats are bouncier than firm but comfortable to our taste. Some distressing on the paint, especially at feet. One chair has a ring mark (barely visible) on the seat (see image 13).
