A handsome mid-century curule brass and green marble coffee table attributed to Raymond Subes, French circa 1940. The rich green Vert de Mer marble top has beautiful light green veining that resembles the ocean's surface. A molded brass rim cradles the marble. Curving X-shaped curule legs are embellished at the top with water leaf motif, which is echoed just above the round spindle feet. Water leaves also decorate the round medallions where the legs cross and near the center of the shapely stretcher.
Condition: Good vintage condition. Tiny dents and superficial scratches on marble. Some variation in color, spots and age wear on brass. All typical for age and use.
