An elaborate vintage wrought iron and marble console table, French circa 1950. The ornate wrought iron base is loaded with scrollwork. Each of the four legs consists of two thick bowed scrolls accented by sets of slim inner scrolls, all joined by four scrolling stretchers at the bottom that meet at a central half moon shape. The frame's apron is a series of mirrored scrolls, everything painted in a crackle finished beige tone. At the front corners and along the apron's center are cast iron attachments of painted foliate and fruit motif with a scrolled acanthus centerpiece. The thick marble top with bullnose edge looks to be a pale Languedoc in pinks and creamy gray with white veining, complementing the painted base.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. A couple of small chips and rough edging on the underside of the marble and some paint wear and loss on the base.
