circa: Early 1900s
An elegant banded mahogany side table in Louis XVI style, French circa 1900. Mahogany with fruitwood inlay and brass hardware. The oval top displays banded veneer in a tight starburst pattern, with its stripes radiating out from the center. Two delicate rings of pale inlay trim the top near its edge, with more banded inlay set between. The banded veneer trims out the oval drum body with the same ringed veneer edging. Tapered square legs in darker toned mahogany have thin strips of the pale fruitwood inlay, accentuating their slim build. A single shelf with concave perimeter has matching inlay. One drawer at the front with a dainty brass knob and square brass sabot feet.
Condition: Good antique condition. Some light scratches and little water damage on top. Missing a sliver of veneer at the drawer's right edge. Age appropriate wear on the legs and shelf, and age darkening on the brass.
