A long marble top console table with lacquered wood base, circa 1950s. An unusual red marble top comprised of large mosaic pieces which are applied over a composite slab. The marble varies in tone. It is predominantly a medium red, but it's flecked with deeper reds, bright veins of white alongside ribbons of gray, and interspersed with shades of ocher. An unadorned square frame makes up the base, with square die joints and tapered spindle legs, all painted in black lacquer. The legs are capped with brass sabots. Classic mid-century Italian design.
Condition: Good vintage condition. Some nicks around the table legs and age wear on wood, typical for its age and use. Some superficial scratches and rough edging on corners on marble. Tarnishing on brass.
