Very chic Neoclassical style smoke glass table with ebonized and gilt wood base from designer Maurice Hirsch, circa 1950s. Curved legs with scrolled feet, all in glossy black varnish with incised, brightly gilt lines tracing the edges for a striking effect. Four legs at top and four at bottom in mirror image, creating an interlocking double X form with a simple pointed square finial at the center. The round smoke glass top is a half inch thick and in very good condition, held in place with clear plastic pads. The wood base measures 35" wide.
A matching cabinet is available.
Condition: Good condition. A few small dents, mostly around the feet, and some minor gilt loss appropriate to age and use. Very few, small superficial scratches on glass top.
