Louis XVI Style Cherrywood Game Table <p>A natty French Louis XVI Style Cherrywood game table with reversible top, circa 1940s. The removable top features a marquetry checker board on one side and a chess board on the other, both comprised of birch wood and macassar ebony surrounded by a border of angled stripe inlay. A slight lip on the top lets it rest securely on the base. At the right corner of each side is a drawer for game pieces. Decorative brass pulls with sunflower centers and beaded edges adorn the drawers. Wide blocks of alternating angled cherrywood veneer create subtle chevrons along each side's face, further embellished by molded trim at top and bottom.
