circa: Late 1800s
A dainty hinged drop leaf table in burl walnut from the Queen Anne Revival period, late 1800s England. Book match veneered burl creates wonderful shapes and images in warm walnut. A one inch strip of veneer trim rings the outer edge. The table opens up to a full oval shape, each drop leaf supported by a swing out gate leg. Legs have a subtle cabriole shape, each ending in a pad foot. When fully extended the table measures 30" wide. With only one side up it comes to 19.5". When both are down it is 9" wide.
Condition: Light age cracks in the veneer as well as subtle discoloration to the wood in places due to exposure, typical for the table's age. Some shallow bumps and nicks along feet and legs in accordance with use.
