A fabulous mid-century gilt and painted wood frame mirror with Rococo elements, Italy circa 1925. The wooden frame within a frame features an aged sage green surface contained by an inner and outer carved gilt trim. An arched acanthus top is capped by a stylized crown motif; scrolls and acanthus at the corners. These motifs are echoed at the bottom with a smaller crown and heavier scrollwork. The inner trim has molded gilt edges complete with scalloped corners and scrolls at the top. Large aged paper music sheets protect the back of the mirror glass. New wire installed at back.
Condition: Great vintage condition. Aged gilding shows some fading and darkening. A few spots of silvering loss on the mirror, off center and limited.
