An intricate Napoleon III period giltwood framed mirror from France, circa 1870. The carved wood frame is elaborately decorated with three levels of detail. Repeating broad leaf and twisted vine motif over stippled texture on the outside. Sinuously winding foliate vine decoration over fine diamond weave pattern at the center. And a thin inner trim with scalloped motif over more stippled surface. Simple molding on the sides, paper backing and wire hanger finish out the piece.
Condition: Good antique condition with minor age on frame, small separations at joints and a few tiny losses. Mirror is not original.
