circa: Late 1800s
An equisite and large Louis XVI full length carved mirror from France, late 1800s. At almost 6 feet tall, this gorgeous mirror in the Louis XVI Style was found in the Beaujolais Region. The arched top frame boasts carved ribbon twists and beaded detail all around. Ornamenting the top is a finely carved and intact knotted and bowed ribbon emblematic of Louis XVI. A carved floral wreath drapes over the top of the mirror to beautiful effect. A rosette medaliion finishes out the piece at the top. The frame is painted in a lovely brilliant gold.
Condition: Very good antique condition. Some age spots on the painted frame. Small crack at rosette carving. Glass is partly cloudy with some fading in silvering. Paint has been retouched in some small areas.
