An impressive and large Napoleon III Period gilded wood mantel mirror, French circa 1870. Beautifully carved details are present throughout. The frame has nice, dimensional molding with fine grooves along the middle. The outer edge is encircled by a twisted ribbon, while the inner edge is ringed with beaded detail. All corners are adorned with generous, raised floral bouquets that stretch outward over the frame. Lovely, age toned gold leaf covers the frame. The top corners are arched, as was popular from the early 1800s. The mirrored glass is new.
Condition: Frame has a small restoration on top right, some discoloration and age toned gilt. Minor losses at bottom of back sides. New glass.
