A handsome mid-century giltwood three light chandelier, Italy circa 1950. Made of carved and gilt wood, the piece has echoes of neoclassical style. The center shaft is tapered and fluted with large lobed gadrooning at both ends and water leaf decoration at the molded top. A round central hub from which the arms extend is also heavily molded and terminates in more water leaves and a round finial. Each of the three stout curved arms has incised decoration and stacked ball finials, and carved cups supporting faux candle lights with candelabra bulbs. The adjustable length chain is capped with a gilt metal canopy.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age appropriate wear on the gilding. Recommended to use 40 watt bulbs.
