An elegant French Napoleon III Period Chandelier with Baccarat crystal and gilt bronze, circa 1870. Eight lights are perched around a graceful, gilded cage dripping with tiers of exquisite Baccarat crystal. Each arm is laden with three sets of scalloped edge crystals dangling from a cut glass floret, echoed with another row of matching crystals at the same level as the candelabra bulbs, and another set dangling from a second series of arms at the top of the chandelier. A row of delicate teardrop crystals hang from arms that sprout from the light fixtures, two per light and each with the lovely glass florets. A crystal spire occupies the center of the chandelier with a faceted spear at its peak, a rounded drop hangs just above it. A similar crystal piece connects the two gilded bronze parts of the light. Three small faceted crystal balls are suspended on a line at the very bottom, with a smooth crystal globe at the terminus. Gilt and molded canopy with an adjustable length chain.
