A handsome and useful Louis XVI style mahogany desk with leather top, French circa 1950. Dark red mahogany wood trimmed in brass detail and topped with a tobacco-tan colored writing top with gilt embossing. Square corner posts are fluted, with turned and tapered legs that echo the fluting above, capped with brass feet. Both ends feature pull-out hidden extensions, 13.75" long and topped with matching leather. Two drawers on the left, one generous center drawer, and a larger drawer on the right, complete with false bottom that slides out at the back. Three keys, all working locks. The back of the desk has false drawers, mimicking the look of a partner's desk. Floor to apron is 24.25, 20" floor to drawers, 21" wide between drawer molding.
Condition: Good vintage condition. A few light water rings on leather, little wear on the wood- especially at apron, typical light discoloration on brass, a few light indentations on wood top.
