The box is composed of thin poplar planks with natural, not smooth, finish. Polished steel covers the poplar, with reinforced edges and corners. Poplar banding runs lengthwise along the front, back and top, secured by large copper nails. Two steel handles on the sides and leather interior straps. The interior is clean and measures 34" x 16.5" x 12"
Condition: Good antique condition. Wear at the base in two spots, no key. The inside is natural, so a bit rough. General aging throughout with tarnishing and some dings.
