A sturdy pine trunk or blanket chest with brass trim, Germany circa 1930. Thick pine plank construction with wide dovetail joints at each corner. Reinforcing pine banding runs along every side and across the top, stained to accent in a reddish tone. Stout brass corner pieces trim and strengthen all corners on the trunk and its banding. Dainty curved iron handles on either side, working original lock. Tiny feet running along either side from front to back. Clean interior with no dividers, perfect for large item storage like quilts and linens. Original tag on the upper right corner of the inner lid, stating in German and French that in case of complaint one should return with this slip.
Condition: Good vintage condition. Little dings and marks throughout, to be expected for its age and use. Some wear near the lock, on inner trim, on braces and on feet. Small spots with wood fill, especially around the dovetail joints.
