A handsome Louis XVI style marble top chest of drawers in walnut, French circa 1875. Rich gray marble with milky-white veining tops a decorated walnut chest with two top drawers and two large bottom drawers, complete with brass hardware. Projected round corners have molding and wide fluting, and tapered baluster style feet. All drawers have tastefully molded edges, the two on top with brass knobs, the larger two on bottom having rectangular drop handles and key shaped escutcheons. The marble top has projected round corners to match the base, with a simple carved edge. Walnut paneled sides, pine paneled back and interior.
Condition: Good antique condition. No keys, some wear inside drawers and under marble, typical dings and marks and one small age crack on left side. Slight damage to back of left back foot. Some tiny corner nicks on marble, no cracks, rough hand-cut edge at back. Two pine boards under the marble top have been replaced.
