A handsome set of six French dining side chairs in the style of Louis XIII, circa 1920s. Sturdy walnut frames with ornate turned baluster front legs and double stretchers, the back legs are square posts, which continue all the way up the sides. Arched tops break up the straight profile of the chair backs. Well stuffed for comfort on the seats and backs. Purchased in the Provence Region, the chairs were re-upholstered with a geometric patterned fabric in tones of mauve, blue-gray and navy, with solid gray backs, probably in the last quarter of the 20th century. Finished out in antique nailhead trim. Floor to seat: 18.75".
Condition: Very good condition with appropriate age wear on the wood surfaces. Typical wear on the fabric, mostly at corners and along the top from use.
