A fabulous Pair of Louis XV style armchairs, circa 1920s, painted in earth tones with their original needlepoint upholstery with floral motifs in soft beige and salmon colors. The armchairs are very comfortable, sturdy and with firm seats. Each chair features curved armrests with scroll and acanthus leaf motifs, a carved serpentine apron and cabriole legs with escargot feet. The sinuous stretcher, unusual in the Louis XV style, has a rosette carving in its center. From floor to seat: 19".
Condition: Very good. Distressed paint. Some age wear and a few small tears on original upholstery. Chairs seats have been re-strung and refurbished.
