An ornate Louis XV and Louis XVI Transition style sideboard with elaborate marquetry and marble top, French circa 1900. Cherry wood veneer along with other veneers of exotic and fruit woods, brass hardware and a thick Calcatta Viola marble top. Both sides, drawer and cabinet doors have tightly fit inlay featuring a satinwood Greek key border. The doors are graced with exquisite inlaid urns brimming with delicate floral bouquets, draped with garlands. Rounded front cornersl. Original brass hardware including ribbon and wreath escutcheons, garland and ribbon drop handles on drawer, ribbon and acanthus apron decoration, acanthus front feet and laurel draped architectural details at corners. Single top drawer over a two door cabinet with sinlgle non-adjustable shelf. Cabinet delpth is 14", 17" space under shelf, 5.5" above. Ogee edged removable marble top.
Condition: Great antique condition. Minor instances of inlay raising at edges. Bowed bottom shelf in cabinet, a little wear at some corners along feet and apron. Some shallow chips and nicks along the marble edges. Two narrow channels with filling on the left side.
