A fine Louis XV style painted and gilt sideboard cabinet with marble top, Italy circa 1950. Tall and slim, it is constructed with a cherrywood frame with molded paneled sides and doors, two adjustable shelves inside with a depth of 10". Distressed grey paint with subtle green tint covers the body and interior. The front and corners are well adorned with gilt trim and acanthus; gilt rosettes and shells decorate the scalloped apron. Brass knobs with flowers and beading. Classic snail feet at the front, scrolled legs at the back. The marble is curved along the front with a molded edge. It has a cream base color with heavy red veining and fine ocher veining, contrasting nicely with the paint color. Plywood back.
Condition: Good vintage condition with light wear in some spots, a few light scratches and small dings or imperfections on the marble top, all age appropriate. A few old treated worm holes. Variations in color on paint, some fading on gilt.
