A handsome antique Louis Philippe style painted French country buffet, circa 1900. Heavily distressed blue-gray paint over darkly finished pine and understated details. Molded frames enclose the panels set into either door; similar molding divides the top and bottom sections, and decorates the top of the plinth base. The front corners are angled, which carries over to the dark stained top and its ogee profile edges. Two drawers sit over an ample cabinet with a single non-adjustable shelf. Painted knob pulls, shapely hinges and working door lock appear to be original to the piece. Both sides are paneled, as is the rough hewn back.
Condition: Good rustic antique condition. Sizable age crack in left door panel, crack on right door by lock, separation on right door panel. Some old marks and dings throughout, some discoloration on the interior, all typical for age and use.
