circa: 19th century
A painted and ornamented Tuscan buffet sideboard, Italian mid to late 1800s. Paneled, thick pine construction with hexagonal brass pulls. Heavily molded trim throughout, including surrounding each panel. Clipped corners and projected edges add great dimension. The plinth base is open in the front with bracket feet. Heavily distressed paint in weathered gray with peeks of the old polychrome decoration on some of the panels. Two drawers at the top center and double doors that open to the interior cabinet with a single, nonadjustable shelf. Working lock with shell motif escutcheons and a clean panel back.
Condition: Good antique condition. The lock has been changed. Typical aging on the wood with dings, nicks and a couple cracks. Repainted.
