circa: 20th century
A colorful vintage Italian chocolate candy tin with geisha decoration, 20th century. The long, rectangular tin box is from the Motta company and held various flavors of chocolate bonbons. Full color decoration includes a beautiful depiction of a Japanese geisha in floral kimono on the lid. The box sides are teal with a band of contrasting gold tone overlaid with ocher colored markings. Inside the box and underneath the metal is gold toned. Green text on the underside declares the box for Motta "Gheisa Selection de Bonbons" and lists ingredients in Italian, French and English. Attractive decorative piece or suitible for some small storage.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age appropriate dents, marks and tarnishing. The lid is fairly loose.
