A 19th Century seamstress cabinet storage box for commercial haberdasher use, made by L.V Fils et Cotons, a Parisian brand of sewing tools created by Louis Varmie in 1841. Textured dark brown oil cloth over sturdy cardboard, eight drawers with brass handles and tag holders complete with original labels in French for threads and cottons, branded threads, elastics, combs, hair pins and snaps. Rounded top edges and branding on the top and sides. Great for small storage and accent piece, two available.
Condition: Good antique commercial condition. Years of use have left wear at the corners, a missing paper tag, wear and foxing on drawer paper, tarnished handles. Minor damage inside bottom drawer.
