A decorated tin amaretti cookie box from Roma, Italy circa 1940. The rectangular tin box with hinged lid is decorated in tones of gold, blue and red. A lovely vignette of a Georgian era young lady graces the front, surrounded by a scrolled frame, garlands, ribbons, acanthus and two puti. The sides have a blue band with gold swags. Blue printed text on the interior proclaims: "Award-winning Roman pastry Gia Marelli specialty amaretti marelli, recommended for long conservation." Makes a great storage or decor piece.
Condition: Good vintage condition with dents and surface wear throughout as well as areas of discoloration, appropriate for age and use.
