This Shaving Stand from the Empire Period is the perfect example of the very unusual pieces that can be found in France. It is made of walnut with a turned leg pedestal on three feet with acanthus leaf carvings. The shelf can be folded down. The shaving mirror is topped by a carved eagle, symbol of Napoleon.
