We are Pierre and Cathy Négrel, and we began traveling to the south of France in search of exceptional French antiques in 1994. Since 1995, we have been located in Whit Hanks Antiques Galleries in downtown Austin and the Courtyard Shops in central Austin. In 2000, we opened a gallery in the Dallas Design District at The Mews II.

Every year we travel to France, usually in the spring and fall, scouting the countryside and cities for singular pieces. In the course of our travels and through secondary research, we have gained a thorough education in antique periods and styles.

French Antiques Paradise

Our travels take us from the lavender fields of Provence to the Vieux Port of Marseille... from the steep vineyards in the Rhône Valley to the majesty of Mont St. Victoire… from the rocky inlets of the Bay of Cassis to the sandy beaches of Toulon… from the verdant countryside of Ardeche to the colorful markets of Lyon—very romantic, n'est ce pas, and an antique lover's paradise. We end up with a collection of furnishings and decorative objects typical of the varied regions.

To give customers the first pick from new shipments, we host "Hot Off the Ship" previews at our Courtyard Shops warehouse in Austin, with items accessible online. Once a year we hold a Warehouse Sale.
